Please reach us at info@mvosteopathy.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We ask that you provide at least 12 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment at Moonee Valley Osteopathy. This allows us to offer the appointment slot to another patient in need of care. There may also be a fee associated with cancelations or no shows so please contact our reception team if you are unable to make an appointment as soon as you can.
If you have a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you have a non-life-threatening medical concern, please call our office and we will do our best to fit you in for an appointment.
To become a new patient at Moonee Valley Osteopathy, you can call our office or use our online booking system to schedule an initial appointment. During your appointment, we will gather information about your medical history and discuss your healthcare needs.
Our Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners and do not require a referral for patients. You WILL need a referral from a GP if you are claiming a partial or full amount of your appointment fees with a third party (this includes DVA, Medicare (EPC/CDM), Work Cover or NDIS. If you are unsure please contact our reception team to discuss.
Osteopaths are required to complete a 5 year double degree at university. We graduate with a Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science (Osteopathy). Osteopaths study a number of areas including, anatomy, biomedical sciences, neuroscience, pathology, biology, biomechanics, clinical diagnosis, imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT) and management. Along with learning manual therapy techniques, effective rehabilitation through exercise and manipulative techniques.
Yes, however you will need to check with your insurance provider to confirm that this extra is included in your policy. The 'gap' payment may also depend on how much of the appointment your policy covers, this payment is the remaining amount once your healthcare insurance has been processed.
This can be processed on the day of your appointment, as we are able to take payment using our HICAPS machines.
We are happy to treat patients in what you feel most comfortable in. However, in some cases you may be asked to remove some clothing in order to perform examinations or some treatments. So we do advise you to wear appropriate underwear/bras or shorts to change into. Please advise your Osteopath on what you are most comfortable with.
